I may have been one of the last people on Earth to find out about "Twilight", but now that I know of it, I have become obsessed. I used to be on MySpace damn near everyday, and for the whole month of October I kept seeing one specific advertisement. It was for a quiz to find out which "Twilight" character you are on some stupid quiz site. I saw it, but never really payed attention to it. Then one day, something told me to check it out. I finally looked at it. I noticed it had a picture of the Cast and that's when I recognized Robert Pattinson.
Now, I had previously seen him in "Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire" as Cedric Diggory, but I did not know what his name was in real life. Nor did I particularly care for him at the time. He did such a good job of being Cedric, with the arrogant attitude, that it made me feel that he must be at least somewhat this way in real life. Therefore I took no notice of him, seeing as how arrogance is my number one turn-off. But then I saw that ad and something snapped inside me. So I decided to check out this whole "Twilight" thing and see what all the buzz was about. Low and behold, it turned out to be a book that was being made into a movie. At first I was kind of skeptical about it, because books often do not translate well when going from page to screen. So I had put it in the back of my mind and thought that if I happen to see it while I'm out shopping, maybe I'll give it go. Maybe.
One day while I was out getting nothing in particular, I stopped in the book aisle and saw this "Twilight" book. I read the back and realized it was about Vampires. That was all it took. I've been facinated by Vampires since I was about 8 years old. So I bought it, took it home and started to read it. I was hooked. I don't know why I started it when I did, because I didn't have much time for reading at that point. I did not want to put the book down. Then my car started having it's problems (another story for another time) and I ended up with more free time. After finishing the book, I went online to find out more about the movie. That's when I came across a video of Mike Welch doing an interview for MTV when they had Twilight Tuesdays. He mentioned something about a website called the Twilight Lexicon, so I decided to check it out. After perusing the boards, I finally found out about Robert Pattinson.
Thus my obsession with the "Twilight" saga and Rob was born. Along the way I've made some really awesome new friends and have gotten to read my now favorite series of books. (Sorry Harry Potter, I still love you...I just love Twilight more. Haha.) How sad is it that I actually know how long it took to read the entire saga? Which is a combined total of 67 hours, by the way. Ha.
